Leave your car at home and step aboard the Seattle/Bainbridge Washington State Ferry in Seattle for a $7 roundtrip ticket. The ferry crosses Elliot Bay in a 35 minute ride offering magnificent views of the city of Seattle, Mt. Rainer , the Olympic Mountains and Bainbridge Island. Enjoy a coffee, take in the scenery and relax.
Downtown Winslow on Bainbridge Island
Once exiting the ferry head left towards downtown Winslow on Winslow Way. If you enjoy morning walks follow the signs for the Waterfront Park Trail next to the ferry toll entrance. The trail runs along the waterfront with intimate views of Eagle Harbor and the docks. The trail heads all the way past downtown through wooded areas, over boardwalks and for the more adventurous into the residential areas along the waterfront. Bring a blanket, a book and lay out in the park soaking up the sun and the quiet. Or head down to the docks and rent a kayak or canoe to paddle around Eagle Harbor for a few hours.
